Our journey at Bukas Palad Foundation began on May 17, 2025.

On that day, we had an orientation facilitated by Ms. Orion who shared with us the goals and objectives of the eight-week program.

It was also the day we were first introduced to our students. We had the opportunity to meet them personally and begin building connections.

As a first step, we focused on understanding their individual needs and areas where they required support.

This allowed us to identify their strengths and weaknesses which became the foundation for creating a personalized plan to help them grow and improve throughout the program.

Building Relationships and Commitment

As our journey went on, we started building stronger bonds with our students.

We began to see them as our own brothers and sisters. It no longer felt like we were just doing this as a school requirement. Instead, we were doing it because we truly wanted to help them. We cared about their progress and we wanted to see them grow and improve.

But just like any journey, there were challenges along the way. Sometimes our students were absent and we had to switch and assist other students instead.

At first this was frustrating, but it taught us an important lesson to be flexible and open to changes. We learned how to to adjust quickly and still give our best no matter the situation.

These experiences helped us grow not only as student tutors, but also as future educators. We realized that teaching is not just about sharing knowledge, but also about understanding, patience and care.

It’s about being there for your students even when things don’t go as planned. This journey has helped shape our character and made us more prepared for the path we want to take in the future.

Gratitude and Acknowledgements

As our journey here comes to an end, we would like to dedicate this video as our way of giving thanks to every person at Bukas Palad who make this experience possible.
