The Feeding Program took care of malnourished children, pregnant mothers, tuberculosis patients and elderly people are given feedings until they regain weight. When the Social Center started in 1983, the Volunteers discovered that majority of the children were malnourished and many had severe malnutrition.
The Social Center started the feeding center, mothers’ classes for health instructions, gave nutritional supplement and taught mothers to prepare low cost, nutritional food alternative herbal medicines through cooking demonstrations.
Then the mothers started an initiative in their own areas to cook for their children. They contributed money, went to market, cook the food, prepared the meal, served the children and fixed everything in turn. After some years, the Social Center able to eliminate severe malnutrition in the community.
